Groundwater Monitoring Wells, Nkhotakota, Malawi 2022-2023

An assessment of 123 groundwater monitoring wells in Malawi by BASEflow Malawi in 2022 and 2023. Every well but one has an improvement plan, and the action named most often is a trained person to read the gauge (76 wells), ahead of a manual dipper (74 wells).

September 2026: solidwastekampala

Domestic Solid Waste, Kampala, Uganda

The quantity and composition of domestic solid waste from 103 households in Kampala, Uganda, weighed over one week in three parishes of low, middle and high income by researchers at Makerere University. Waste per person rises with income, from 0.43 kg per day on average in the low income parish to 0.98 in the high income parish, and food makes up three quarters of the mass.
